Ingredients

  • 4 ounces about 115 g carrots, washed and cut into even batons
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil 5 ml
  • 1/8 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine salt or to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh lemon juice 2.5 ml, added after cooking

Equipment

  • 2-quart or larger basket air fryer
  • Clean kitchen towel
  • cutting board and knife
  • small mixing bowl
  • measuring spoons
  • tongs

Method

  1. Wash the carrots under running water, scrub away dirt, trim and dry with a clean towel. Peel if desired and cut into similarly thick batons.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 380 F (195 C) if required. Toss carrots with olive oil, paprika and salt.
  3. Arrange in a loose single layer. Air fry at 380 F (195 C) for an estimated 10 to 13 minutes, turning or shaking halfway. Begin checking at 9 minutes; add short intervals until a fork enters the thickest center easily and edges are browned.
  4. Transfer the whole portion to a plate with tongs. Add lemon juice after cooking and serve warm.

Notes

Cut pieces about 1/2 inch (1.25 cm) thick and 2 inches (5 cm) long; check thin tips early.
Cook time varies by carrot size and air fryer; the final fork test matters more than a fixed timer.
