Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon milk, optional
  • 1 teaspoon butter or olive oil, divided
  • 1 slice bread
  • 4 cherry tomatoes, halved, optional
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine salt, or less to taste
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Chopped chives or parsley, optional

Equipment

  • air fryer
  • 8- to 10-ounce oven-safe ramekin
  • fork
  • tongs
  • instant-read thermometer
  • oven mitts

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 325°F (165°C) for about 3 minutes.
  2. Lightly grease an oven-safe ramekin, leaving space around it in the basket.
  3. Add eggs, optional milk, salt, and pepper. Beat lightly with a fork.
  4. Air fry the eggs for 5 minutes.
  5. Lightly butter or oil the bread and place it beside the dish. Add optional tomatoes if there is room.
  6. Cook for another 3 to 6 minutes. Remove the toast as soon as it is crisp.
  7. Check the center of the egg mixture and continue cooking until it reaches 160°F (71°C).
  8. Lift the dish with oven mitts and serve with toast and herbs.

Notes

Cooking time is an estimate and depends on your air fryer and dish.
The egg mixture must reach 160°F (71°C); do not serve it with an undercooked center.
Nutrition is estimated before optional tomatoes and milk.
Times and nutrition are estimates. Follow your appliance instructions and check doneness.
Never preheat with a loose parchment liner. Keep any liner secured beneath food and away from the heating element.
