Ingredients
  

  • 1 medium russet potato, 8 to 10 ounces
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 1/8 teaspoon fine salt
  • Optional: 1 teaspoon butter
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon sour cream or plain Greek yogurt
  • Optional: 2 tablespoons shredded cheddar
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped chives or green onion
  • Optional loaded topping: 2 tablespoons warm cooked chili or shredded cooked chicken

Method
 

  1. Scrub, rinse, and dry the potato well.
  2. Prick the potato 6 to 8 times with a fork.
  3. Rub with olive oil and salt.
  4. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.
  5. Turn and cook for another 18 to 25 minutes, until a knife slides through the center easily.
  6. Rest for 3 minutes, split open, fluff, and add optional toppings.
  7. If using leftover meat or chili, reheat it separately to 165°F (74°C) before topping.

Notes

Cooking time is estimated and varies by potato size and air fryer model.
The 205°F to 210°F center temperature is a texture cue for fluffy potato, not a food-safety requirement.
